Computational Social Science Research

Miguel Sánchez Cortés

I am Miguel, and I’ve been a PhD candidate at the Complexity Science Hub and Central European University since September 2025. My research interests lie within the computational and data-driven analysis of social systems, with a particular focus on the co-evolution between humans and AI. I am currently studying the individual and collective effects of the interaction between humans and feed algorithms in high-stakes political contexts. Previously, I earned a B.Sc. in Physics (UNAM, Mexico) and a M.Sc. in Data Science (Sapienza University of Rome, Italy). During my master thesis I collaborated with the CENTAI Institute to study the demographic pathways through which users are drawn into alt-right and conspiracy forums on social media.
