I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and a visiting scholar at TU Graz through the Ernst Mach Grant – ASEA-UNINET.
My research focuses on uncovering stories from data using mathematical approaches, with particular interest in Network Science, Complex Systems, Dynamical Systems, and Topological Data Analysis.
I earned my BSc and MSc from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), pursued Part III of the Mathematical Tripos at the University of Cambridge, and completed my PhD at Imperial College London with the Complexity and Networks Group (now Centre for Complexity Science).
I host podcasts for the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), exploring scientists’ journeys and motivations (link). My mathematical memoir, Menjejaki Matematik dari Gombak ke Cambridge (In the Footsteps of Mathematics from Gombak to Cambridge), received the Best Book 2025 Award from the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society (PERSAMA).
